What Do You Do Once Your Remote Control Airplane Is In The Air?
As look up into the sky you feel your heart pulsating as you see that the plane you’ve built is soaring in the sky.  Your hand holding the controller may be shaky and nervous is the only word to describe how you feel.  You are flying, now what?  The feeling of nervousness and concern is perfectly normal for a beginning pilot.  In fact, it’s all part of the fun and helps collect the adrenalin rush craved from flying.  Just remember not to let it put a damper in your flight.  Stay calm, relaxed, and focused and your  flight will be rewarding and memorable!
Once you’ve launched your plane, take things slow!  Elevate your plane to a safe height, a good rule of thumb is the top of an average tree, roughly 100 feet.  This will keep your plane within site and range and increase your ability to control it.  Don’t let your plane get to far away from you.  You will want to turn it around one way of another.  Be sure you turn it in an open space free of obstacles.  As you turn, be sure you reduce power by half; your plane does not need full out power for regular flight.
You should turn your plane gently and easily.  After turning, level the plane out to get it going straight again.  Once you are happy, try turning the plane again.  In order to fly, you will need to continually turn the plane then straighten in order to help it dance across the sky.  While doing this, get used to the way the plane moves and responds.  You will quickly get a feel of how to maneuver your controls and handle your aircraft.
While flying, you will need to trim your airplane.  The term trimming means to adjust the airplane controls during flight.  This helps the plane fly steady, straight, and on level all by itself with your controller sticks in the neutral position.  You may discover that your plane has a tendency to turn or lean in one direction when it’s not being steered.  It may also increase or decrease in decline.  You can alleviate these problems by appropriately using the trims on the controller.  Once you’ve moved a trim, you will need to allow the airplane to fly on its own to readjust itself.  As it levels off, you can re-trim your plane until you get it configured the way it needs to be.
As you fly your plane, it is important to remember not to fly it too far away, otherwise you can easily lose sight of it resulting in a crash.  Additionally, you never want to fly directly above your head.  This will discolor your judgment.  The plane should always be in front of you and to the side, never above or behind.  When you are flying toward you, the turns are reversed.  Left means right and right means left.  This will catch you off guard at first, but it will eventually become second nature.  As always, keep your plane in an open space away from other people, animals, and objects.
